First Day of "School"

First Day of "School"

Today was Brennan's first day of Mother's Day Out.  He was really excited and had a ball!  The very first thing he told me when I picked him up was, "Fun with the boys and girls!"  It was so heartwarming to see that he'd had such a good time, and for all the doubts I'd had about whether MDO was a good decision, it was fabulous to see how proud he was of his artwork, how comfortable he was with the other kids, and how much he wanted to go back.  (He asked when we got in the car.)  It is fun to think about what he is learning, read his little notes from the day (thank goodness they send one... it's not like he can explain much!), and talk about school.

And let's not forget that Mother's Day Out is for my benefit too!  I got a ton of work done on some frame orders and enjoyed having the TV on for once.  I cleaned the kitchen counters, put a pot roast in the crock pot, and enjoyed lunch by myself.  Of course, I felt panicked the whole time, watching the minutes and hours tick away on the clock, but that's because this is still so new.  It is unfathomable to me that I will have this much time to myself on a regular basis, and I feel like I have to maximize every single minute for fear that it will end.  I'm sure that as time goes on I will learn how to relax and enjoy my time more.

What a blessing it is to have an opportunity like this!
