Another Milestone!

My Mother-in-law always says that when Brennan goes through a grumpy stage for no particular reason it's probably because he is about to reach a new milestone. As Brennan went through various grumpy stages when he was younger, she was usually right. Well, yesterday Brennan was so ill-behaved I couldn't wait for him to go to bed. He threw grocery store tantrums, whined and cried over everything all day, and generally drove me crazy. He has been getting over an illness, but he's been on an antibiotic for six days, so I don't think we can blame the behavior on his sinus infection. He's sleeping beautifully in his new bed, so that isn't the problem either. Jim kept asking what was wrong with him, and neither of us really could really figure it out. Well. Perhaps we have solved the mystery! Today Brennan not only sat on the potty at school, but he did so with success! And then he went again for me when he got home! It was a bit of a fluke, and I won't get into details, but he had a completely successful potty experience, if you get my drift! Hooray!!! Of course, this means he is ready to start going more regularly, which means I am signing up for potty training, like it or not. It's time to buy tons of underwear, double my laundry load, spend lots of time in the bathroom, and get used to stickers on everything. But I won't have to change any more dirty diapers once we master this, so I guess it's a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things.
